Australian lecture tour

In late February I toured six Australian capitals (including four veterinary schools) speaking on humane teaching methods in biomedical education, and the themes of my recent book on animal experiments and alternatives. These were frequently followed by less formal presentations at public dinners in most cities (actually, it turned into something of a vegan cake tour of Australia!) One of the associated radio interviews is here and the pics are here! If anyone missed my presentations and is particularly keen, similar presentations may be found here.

I’m very grateful to Humane Research Australia and the local activists who organised all of my events so successfully (especially the cakes!), and to Humane Research Australia, the Alternatives in Research Resource Centre and the Cruelty Free Shop for generously sponsoring my tour.

Thanks to Warwick Debating Society at Warwick University for their excellent January 2013 debate on animal testing. Watch Home Office expert Dr Judy Mac Arthur, emergency physician Dr Adrian Stallwood, animal researcher Prof Mike Barer, Understanding Animal Research representative John Meredith and myself battle it out on youtube!
